È la storia di Maria Pia Lourdes, affettuosamente chiamata “Mapi” che nasce sana, una bambina allegra, piena di vitalità e con un sorriso stupendo, una luce che illumina la sua famiglia e i suoi parenti, fino al giorno in cui una banale gastroenterite cambia la sua vita. Per continuare le terapie (circa 800,00 € al giorno), senza contare il vitto e l’alloggio per il papà e la mamma ed affrontare un altro lungo viaggio, ma occorrono soldi e non chiacchiere. Dopo le trasformazioni epocali che hanno attraversato la nostra società ci siamo imbattuti in una crisi profonda d’identità. I sistemi di valori che sembravano essersi consolidati all’interno della società sono stati messi in discussione. È possibile che questa fase di perplessità sia principalmente legata al definitivo declino delle ideologie. Eppure anche se il corso degli eventi che ha segnato la fine delle ideologie sembra essere un ciclo concluso con l’affermarsi di nuovi valori e principi è ancora qualcosa di fragile. Il nuovissimo su cui si sono giocate molte importanti battaglie politiche e partitiche non riesce ad appagare il desiderio di una nuova rigenerata morale. L’affermarsi di nuovi valori, inoltre, per molti versi sembra qualcosa di conteso tra vari poli politici e un modo per sostenere nuove idee e progetti sulla società. Come per la moneta, c’è, oggi, una sorta di inflazione anche per il valore delle parole, che si logorano e si svalutano a mano a mano che aumenta la loro circolazione. Ci sono espressioni divenute ormai impronunciabili o pronunciabili solo rischiando l’ironia: la lotta di classe, le masse, le conquiste, la società reale, il progresso e il nuovo, il trend, il mix, gli spazi di libertà sulla salute, l’evento epocale, la solidarietà. Su questa parola c’è molta confusione, perché al di là di un senzo misericordioso di tipo cristiano, essa sta assumendo una vera e propria politicizzazione. Innanzitutto, la solidarietà viene oggi percepita e affermata come un valore in quanto tale sostanzialmente indiscutibile, o discutibile in mala fede, un obbiettivo inalienabile per qualsiasi progetto, tanto che le strutture che dovrebbero interessarsi al caso sono del tutto indifferenti ai problemi reali. Tuttavia, anche senza estremizzare il ragionamento, rimane comunque una domanda di fondo che appare difficile evitare: si è più solidali distribuendo risorse o insegnando alla gente le tecniche per produrle? In che modo la solidarietà deve agire per tutelare i più deboli? Poiché il disagio sociale è un fenomeno molto complesso e strutturato, come dimostra l’attuale scenario della società, le soluzioni che si offrono non sono semplici e soprattutto non si attivano automaticamente. È più facile che l’impostazione meglio adeguata e più opportuna risieda in un programma di investimenti pubblici piuttosto che in una massiccia opera assistenziale. Per investimenti pubblici si intende ovviamente anche la formazione: per esempio, si potrà partire dalla scuola, che è un potente mezzo di integrazione sociale. Si tratta certamente anche in questo caso di compiere attività che possono contribuire al benessere sociale, anche se si innestano in una visione della solidarietà non di tipo tradizionale. Comunque dal momento che, come accennavamo sopra, il disagio non può essere semplificato, è chiaro che sarebbe opportuno differenziare gli interventi caso per caso, e questo è uno di essi. Ovvero indirizzare il flusso di risorse di cui dispone lo Stato in direzione mirata dove alcune apparati decentrati non vengono filtrati da un’ottica autenticamente egualitaria. In altre parole, ai nostri giorni la faccenda si pone in questi termini: la solidarietà è un valore insopprimibile, perno del vivere civile e pacifico ma il modo in cui essa sottende ai progetti politici la rende un concetto dal duplice volto. Sul piano squisitamente politico la solidarietà si indirizza verso la ridistribuzione della ricchezza del Paese o del mondo, il modo, i tempi, la capacità di arrivare a risolvere i problemi delle fasce sociali meno protette e più esposte al disagio che ne determinano le risoluzione in tempi brevi. Ecco, siamo giunti al termine, spero di non avervi annoiato sul tema della solidarietà individuale, ma i problemi purtroppo restano.
