LA STELLA DI BETLEHEM

Nel Vangelo scritto da Matteo, si racconta della venuta dei Re Magi, giunti dal lontano Oriente fino a Gerusalemme e chiedere agli abitanti del luogo le informazioni necessarie per individuare il luogo esatto in cui il Re dei Re fosse nato, e riferirono loro al popolo che era stata una stella a guidarli fin lì. Fin dai tempi antichi l’uomo ha scrutato il cielo notando: i cambiamenti del clima, l’alternarsi del giorno e della notte, i fenomeni atmosferici, il cambio delle stagioni e tutte quelle altre manifestazioni occassionali, che a quei tempi venivano catalogati come fenomeni di una volontà superiore e non terrena. In quel dato storico si pensava che la visione di uan stella o di un qualcosa di diverso dal solito, fosse un segno premonitore di avverso, brutto, o disagevole, come ad esempio, la morte di un personaggio importante, un re, un religioso, un papabile di corte, invece quella notte, doveva verificarsi un avvenimento importante e storico, la venuta al mondo di un essere perfetissimo, nato per mezzo dello Spirito Santo, un Bambino, figlio di Maria. La notte del 24 dicembre si capovolse tutto l’ordine del creato: una stella cometa a sei punte discese sulla terra, chiamata stella di Davide, con una coda che terminava a tre punte, ben evidenti che emetteva una luce abbagliante, anche più del sole, che risplendeva a giorno il cielo, tutto questo a testimonianza della volontà della Santa Trinità, quando alla grandezza di Dio. Oggi, ogni Presepe che si rispetti e che rispecchia la scenografica rappresentazione della Natività di Gesù, mostra alle spalle della grotta o della capanna, un manto stellato, e nel centro, una stella più grande di tutte, che simboleggia il luogo preciso in cui Gesù venne alla luce. Soltanto negli ultimi anni, e con l’avvicinarsi dello scorso Giubileo del 2000 si è tornati a rappresentare insieme alla Natività di Gesù, anche la figura di Dio, talvolta raffigurato in un mezzobusto, il Padre era sempre posto in alto appeso al fondale del cielo, in posizione dominante su tutta la rappresentazione e dell’intero paesaggio circostante. La sua figura compariva importante ed essenziale, contornata da Angeli, Serafini e Santi, nubi, stelle scintillanti e dai raggi luminosi.
